Staff Training

Initially I provided staff training for care staff mainly in residential and nursing homes within the North West. I became an internal verifier in 1992 and worked on a part-time basis for Associated Care Training (formerly North West Nursing Homes Association).

Before moving to South Cheshire in 1996 I verified for 19 residential care and nursing homes and had nearly one hundred candidates under my supervision. As a qualified City and Guilds vocational and skills assessor (D32, D33 and D34 units in 1994) I can undertake work based assessor and verifiers functions.

I have provided a range of training and development opportunities for staff on a variety of subjects.

  • To individuals, groups of carers or activities organisers within a residential setting to set up or develop diversional programmes.
  • To provide an insight into common medical conditions and dysfunctions eg strokes, head injuries, Parkinson's Disease and mental confusion.
